Messi was born in Rosario, Argentina, on June 24, 1987. He began playing soccer at a young age and quickly showed his talent. He joined the youth academy at Newell's Old Boys, but he was eventually diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency. This condition would have prevented him from playing professional soccer without expensive treatment.

Messi led Barcelona to numerous trophies, including 10 La Liga titles, four UEFA Champions League titles, and three FIFA Club World Cup titles. He also won the Copa América with Argentina in 2022, the country's first major international title since 1986.
Messi left Barcelona in 2021 and joined Paris Saint-Germain. He won the Ligue 1 title with PSG in 2022, but he left the club at the end of the season. In 2023, he joined Inter Miami, a Major League Soccer team.
Messi is married to Antonela Roccuzzo, and they have three children. He is a global ambassador for UNICEF and is known for his charitable work.
